About the position

Xometry is seeking a Senior UX Designer to enhance the user experience for engineers and manufacturers within its digital marketplace. This role involves collaboration with product managers and software developers to create compelling and effective design solutions in a fast-paced environment, while also supporting the growth and development of the UX team.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, multidisciplinary initiatives by partnering with product managers, engineering leads, and stakeholders to identify problems and opportunities, develop strategies, prioritize features, and execute effectively.
• Work closely with other designers and developers to improve and maintain design consistency across product areas.
• Prototype features using user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs.
• Utilize various usability testing methods to identify optimal solutions for customers.
• Coach other designers and develop the overall proficiency of the team in different aspects of UX design.
• Cultivate a respectful, productive, and engaging work environment within the team.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience working as part of a UX team in a cross-functional environment.
• Experience designing for web apps in marketplace companies or companies with a strong service design component.
• Strong communication skills and advocacy for design thinking, with the ability to describe approaches and decision-making to stakeholders, engineers, and other designers.
• Possess 'T-shaped' UX design skills, with particular strength in at least one area of UX design and the ability to collaborate with experts in other fields.
• Ability to work with Product Managers and engineering leads to drive the right outcomes for users and the business.
• A portfolio that effectively showcases decision-making and experience in designing products for web and mobile.
• Must be a US citizen, green card holder, or a legal permanent resident of the United States.
