About the position

The Senior UX Designer at Epic Games will play a crucial role in defining the future of 3D creation within the Unreal Editor for Fortnite Product Design team. This position focuses on designing user experiences that are innovative and user-centered, addressing complex problems with simple and intuitive solutions. The designer will collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance the user interface and overall user experience across UEFN tools.

Responsibilities

• Design layouts, interaction patterns, and visual styles for software user interfaces.
• Produce materials to illustrate concepts, including personas, storyboards, sketches, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes.
• Iterate on ideas and collaborate with designers, engineers, product managers, and other subject matter experts to bring concepts to life.
• Review existing UI for new and legacy features to identify and solve design problems.
• Establish guidelines and standards for visual language within and across product lines.
• Design and develop new mechanisms and visual conventions to enhance product feature discoverability and usability.
• Incorporate user feedback through interviews, testing, and other research.

Requirements

• Exceptional visual design skills with an eye for detail.
• Technical curiosity and adaptability.
• Ability to simplify complex feature concepts into intuitive user experiences.
• Ability to work autonomously and drive a design from concept to delivery.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly with engineers.
• Working knowledge of 2D/3D creative tools and/or game engines (Unreal, Maya, Blender, etc.).
• Proficiency with industry-standard prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Creative Cloud).
