About the position

The Senior Email Product Designer at Target is responsible for creating responsive email designs that enhance the digital experience for guests and team members. This role involves collaborating with a team of designers and developers to produce high-quality, dynamic emails that adhere to brand and UX standards. The designer will leverage insights and data to create user-centric email communications that drive engagement and results.

Responsibilities

  • Create world-class, responsive emails for the operational side of Target.com.
  • Explore ways to personalize and humanize important communications using design and UX techniques.
  • Generate new concepts and hypotheses, facilitate A/B testing ideas, and pivot based on feedback.
  • Create fluid, responsive designs that leverage back-end services and data extensions.
  • Execute complete end-to-end QA of each email.
  • Participate in the UX process from discovery to production.
  • Leverage insights and research to pursue user-centric outcomes in Operational Communication.
  • Create design deliverables such as journey maps, wireframes, user flows, UI designs, and prototypes.
  • Collaborate with designers, developers, product managers, and accessibility team members.
  • Build relationships to enable a vision that enhances guest experience.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience with UX design specifically for email, including fluid responsive design layouts and device breakpoints.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or equivalent tools for email design.
  • Experience working within corporate brand standards.
  • Familiarity with testing tools like Litmus or Email on Acid.
  • Willingness to adopt new technologies and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of design thinking and the design process.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical partners.
  • Passion for email design and development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with A/B testing and data-driven design decisions.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards in email design.
