About the position

The Senior CX/UX Researcher will join the UX team at Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting North America, collaborating with UX Designers, product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to create innovative solutions for accounting professionals. This role emphasizes a strong research background, effective communication, and the ability to drive product vision based on user insights. The ideal candidate will challenge the status quo, inspire new ideas, and promote design-centered thinking while delivering results in a cross-functional team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product leadership to understand user needs and business requirements, identifying research needs and executing on them.
  • Interpret business challenges and recommend best practices to improve technology products or processes through applicable technology.
  • Guide the product team in strategic decision-making from identifying key user needs to continuous usability testing of existing and new patterns.
  • Create understanding and empathy around user needs for the entire product team, including UX designers, product managers, and engineers.
  • Explore user behaviors and motivations through methods like contextual inquiry, surveys, and usability testing.
  • Champion design thinking and a user-centered process, asking smart questions and taking risks.

Requirements

  • Eight or more years of experience in user research, ideally within an agile environment.
  • Solid grasp of generative and evaluative research methods for collecting data and insights.
  • Experience working closely with designers, product managers, and engineers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Lean Product and Lean UX principles and user-centered design (UCD).
  • Experience evaluating complex business processes and conducting research for B2B products.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Miro or similar design collaboration tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree; Master's degree is a plus.
  • Skill in collecting and analyzing human behavioral data to inform UX and product strategy.
  • Experience with analytics tools like Pendo.
  • Experience impacting product direction using AI and large language models (LLMs).
  • Experience in a formal Agile development environment.
  • Experience with Tax & Accounting solutions.
  • Experience collaborating with designers in Figma.
  • Experience with User Research platforms like UserZoom.
