About the position

The Senior User Experience Researcher (UXR) will play a crucial role in shaping the design and experience of products by driving insights that prioritize patient needs. This position involves close collaboration with designers throughout the design cycle, ensuring that user research informs solutions from concept to execution. The UXR will influence product strategy by translating patient pain points into actionable insights, thereby enhancing user experience and business outcomes. As the first dedicated UXR in the design organization, the role also includes establishing best practices for research and fostering a culture that balances thoughtful work with speed to impact the business.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Strategic Product Insights by developing a deep understanding of patients' needs and pain points.
  • Collaborate closely with product designers to provide actionable insights and validate concepts through usability testing.
  • Represent the patient perspective in design decisions, ensuring their needs are considered in product strategies.
  • Establish and scale impactful research practices within the design organization, embedding research in the design process.
  • Deliver research that drives action, ensuring insights are adopted and aligned with both patient and business needs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in UX research, with at least 3+ years in digital product environments, preferably in Digital Health or DTC.
  • Proven expertise in qualitative research methods, including moderating interviews and focus groups, with comfort in quantitative research and survey analysis.
  • Experience collaborating with PMs and designers to integrate research insights into product development.
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills to articulate research findings to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple research projects with a focus on prioritization and strategic alignment with business goals.
  • Experience working autonomously and as part of cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter mentality with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Figma or similar design tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in consumer product research, applied research, or product development.
  • A degree in a human behavior-related field (e.g., Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Communication, Information Science).
  • Expertise with core research methodologies and creating strategic narratives from research findings.
