About the position

The Senior UX/UI Designer role is a contract position based in Chicago, IL, focused on designing, testing, and delivering content across various digital touchpoints. The ideal candidate will collaborate with product management, research, visual design, engineering, and stakeholders to influence design strategies for different audiences. This position requires a strong understanding of user-centered design principles and the ability to articulate design choices clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design, test, and deliver content across various digital touchpoints.
• Collaborate with product management, research, visual design, engineering, and stakeholders.
• Influence design strategies for different audiences and stakeholders.
• Work with design systems, knowing when to use existing patterns and when to create new concepts.
• Articulate design choices and rationale clearly.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in designing for content and information, interaction design, and visual design.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design methods and principles.
• Proficiency in Figma and prototyping; motion design skills are a bonus.
• Experience working in a scrum/agile environment and with developers.
• Experience working with UX researchers and various research methods.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with large high-tech firms and product design companies like Uber, Lyft, Amazon, or Apple.
• Knowledge of accessibility and designing for broad audiences.
