About the position

The Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Technician position at Freeport-McMoRan focuses on enhancing equipment availability and reducing maintenance costs through predictive maintenance technologies. The role involves monitoring equipment, coordinating maintenance efforts, and ensuring safe operations while representing the company professionally. Technicians will work with various equipment types and technologies, requiring a self-motivated individual capable of working with minimal supervision in potentially hazardous environments.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor equipment across various facilities including SX/EW, Powerhouse, and Mine operations.
  • Perform vibration data collection using current technology (CSI).
  • Utilize software to load, dump, and analyze vibration route data, and maintain associated databases.
  • Build reports and presentations using various software programs.
  • Engage in daily planning including MSTs and work orders using the current CMMS.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data effectively.
  • Learn and apply various RCM/PdM technologies, primarily ultrasonic analysis.
  • Support the RCM Program and educate other personnel on its aspects.
  • Communicate effectively to provide and implement constructive feedback.
  • Participate actively with Maintenance and Planning groups.

Requirements

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of hands-on mechanical maintenance repair/rebuild experience with industrial equipment.
  • Working knowledge of moving and rotating equipment such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, and conveyors.
  • Ability to read and understand basic prints and technical manuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge and skills, passing a written assessment where required.
  • Effective written, verbal, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills in a Windows environment, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Possess Level I certification or obtain within one (1) year of hire date.
  • Valid state driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Vibration experience or Certification.
  • Familiarity with RBMWare (AMS-CSI) Software.
  • Experience with Emerson/CSI online vibration monitoring system.
  • Experience with RCFA.
