As a Senior Vice President, Application Oracle DBA Manager at BNY, you will play a pivotal role in leading the Production Services team. This position is designed for a seasoned professional with over 10 years of experience in database administration, specifically with Oracle databases. You will be responsible for managing and administering Oracle 19c databases within the application environment, ensuring their optimal performance and availability. Your role will involve close collaboration with various application teams, participating in code deployments, debugging issues, and addressing vulnerabilities to enhance resilience. In addition to technical expertise, you will be expected to motivate and inspire your team, acting as a cultural change agent to promote best practices and continuous improvement in database operations. You will also be tasked with identifying and resolving performance issues through thorough analysis and collaboration with application teams. Your ability to communicate effectively with team members, application development leads, and stakeholders will be crucial in understanding requirements and supporting critical business applications. The role requires a willingness to participate in a rotating 24x7 production support schedule, ensuring that critical database issues are promptly addressed to minimize downtime. Familiarity with monitoring technologies such as Splunk, App Dynamics, and Moog will be essential for proactively managing database performance and diagnosing issues. Additionally, knowledge of how AI can be leveraged to increase work throughput will be considered an advantage.
