About the position

The role is part of the Cloud Security team within Citi's Chief Information Security Office (CISO), focusing on enhancing the security of both private and public cloud environments, as well as container security and strategic secrets management. The position involves working within a newly formed Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, contributing to a multi-year transformation journey aimed at achieving engineering excellence and secure design principles. The successful candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders to build tools and platforms that support SRE capabilities, while also managing production-level incidents until resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Work across Container products and Secrets products, including Public and Private Cloud and cloud-native specific products.
  • Architect and build tools and platforms that provide capabilities for SRE.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders and partners across Engineering and Operations, as well as partner teams within the wider Citi organization.
  • Actively own production-level incidents until resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently at multiple levels of seniority.
  • Certification or formal training in site reliability engineering concepts and practices.
  • Prior experience working towards SLIs, SLOs, and observability capabilities at a large scale.
  • 5+ years experience in Python (preferable) or Java, on large scale systems alongside Linux-based scripting languages.
  • Experience working on observability, logging, and metrics toolsets.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container technologies such as Docker, Openshift, and EKS.
  • Experience with public cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience with Secrets products such as HashiCorp Vault or CyberArk.
  • Highly effective at navigating large and complex organizations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
  • Experience working in CISO or security-led organizations is desirable but not essential.
