As a Data Governance Lead at BNY Mellon, you will play a pivotal role in establishing a robust Data Governance framework and driving data quality across the organization. This position is part of the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) team and is located in either Pittsburgh, PA or Lake Mary, FL, with a hybrid work model. You will lead a team of data professionals, overseeing the data stewardship program to ensure the quality, integrity, and governance of critical data assets, particularly within the Risk and Finance organization. Your responsibilities will include defining data stewardship policies and processes, collaborating with stakeholders to promote data management sustainability, and establishing clear guidelines for data stewardship activities. In this influential role, you will work closely with Data Leaders and Stewards across BNY Mellon to ensure compliance with policies while implementing robust data quality monitoring. You will be accountable for the enterprise data quality process, including its performance and the resource and technology plan that supports it. Your impact will extend to developing and maintaining data lineage documentation, collaborating with data management teams, and serving as a subject matter expert on data stewardship best practices. This role requires a hands-on approach to data and metadata management, with a focus on delivering effective solutions to complex data issues. To succeed, you will need a strong background in data governance principles, data quality management concepts, and regulatory requirements such as BCBS239 and GDPR. You will also need to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to inspire and lead a global team while being a collaborative team player. Your experience should include operational activities, reference data management, and enterprise data governance, with a proven track record of delivery in these areas.
