The Senior Vice President oversees an entire operational region. This role is a key leader in their regional and national strategic growth plan. The Sr. Vice President is accountable for developing, implementing, and performing a multifamily-development approach across our regional platform, leveraging an integrated service model. The Sr. Vice President is tasked with providing strategic and tactical leadership to optimize performance and effectiveness, develop new business, establish and maintain relationships (owners, landlords, tenants, and vendors), and achieve financial results which align with the overall corporate goals and objectives. This position will oversee the Mid-Atlantic region to include North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland.

Responsibilities

  • Work with various department heads and VPs to ensure best practices are enforced in all on-site operations
  • Recruit and interview candidates for Vice President and monitor positions for their entire portfolio
  • Conduct 1-on-1 meetings such as coaching, conflict resolution, goal setting, quarterly check in's and annual reviews, etc., with direct reports
  • Manage HR issues
  • Conduct onboarding and training and mentoring team members
  • Ensure alignment of individual priorities with overall business objectives
  • Coach multifamily team members to success and hold individuals accountable for achieving results
  • Lead change management strategies and plans as needed to maximize associate adoption
  • Collaborate and support the Executive Leadership Team's objectives and goals
  • Ensure Owner/Client expectations are met or exceeded regarding property performance
  • Build, develop, and maintain positive and successful relationships with owners and clients
  • Provide visible, ethical leadership across the multifamily platform
  • Provide ownership with financial analysis and comparisons, as requested, to support performance initiatives and results
  • Utilize and optimize the firm's technology solutions to extract and monitor performance analytics
  • Partner with key stakeholders to identify technologies and solutions for actionable insights
  • Monitor monthly financial reviews with Regional Vice President and ensure sites are on track to meet budget goals
  • Benchmark property performance against regional and national averages
  • Oversee policies for property operations
  • Work closely with the Risk Management department and review the status of liability and property damage claims
  • Identify and implement new business opportunities for increasing revenue potential
  • Lead multifamily portfolio in annual budget review and preparation
  • Analyze internal business processes relative to property operations
  • Create and implement action plans for underperforming assets
  • Monitor expense controls and implement initiatives to achieve or exceed budget
  • Draft annual department operating regional budget
  • Assist clients in identifying new opportunities and help underwrite the deals based on operational knowledge and market conditions
  • Attend DD, prepping, and task completion items for property transitions

Requirements

  • Hands-on inspirational leadership style
  • Exemplary track record of success in leading, coaching, and mentoring teams
  • 10-15 years of multifamily property management leadership success with a large portfolio preferably 15K units or more
  • Prior significant P&L responsibility
  • Strong background in managing diverse types of multi-family communities
  • Thorough knowledge of multifamily property management best practices
  • Advanced proficiency and hands-on experience with managing large and/or complex multifamily portfolio
  • Proven success with building a culture of financial accountability across the team
  • Demonstrated results driving and leading transformative strategic initiatives
  • Sophisticated communication and influencing skills
