About the position

As the Senior Vice President, Payroll Administration Manager at BNY, you will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating all payroll aspects for a large region, which includes the US, EMEA, and APAC. Your work will primarily be accomplished through teams of professionals and junior managers, focusing on the implementation and administration of payroll policies and procedures in compliance with organizational and regionally relevant laws, policies, and regulations. You will serve as a subject matter expert on regional payroll administration and compliance factors, ensuring the accuracy of and approving all master payroll calendars and processing schedules. In this leadership position, you will manage the production of all weekly, bi-weekly, and special compensation, overseeing the issuance of special checks for the assigned region. You will direct the team's reporting activities, addressing identified issues or inefficiencies directly or escalating them to regional senior management as necessary. Your responsibilities will also include initiating audits and assigning preparation responsibilities for both internal and external auditors to country managers within the assigned region. You will lead the development and implementation of regional policies and procedures that align with organizational objectives, developing strategies to address changes in payroll laws and regulations. This includes assigning tasks to country managers to ensure that professional teams adapt to these changes effectively. Additionally, you will develop strategies to improve service delivery to country managers and enhance system performance, addressing regional payroll issues escalated by junior managers and professional staff. Your role will involve leading the development of reports for presentation to regional management on identified issues, errors, and inefficiencies, as well as reviewing proposals from junior team members on payroll design and potential new components. You will use your broad knowledge of the field and best practice solutions to approve or adjust proposals, leading the regional team in implementing necessary changes. Furthermore, you will serve as a regional communications liaison for payroll questions from senior management, working closely with them to determine communication and marketing strategies for payroll changes. In addition to these responsibilities, you will recruit, direct, motivate, and develop professional staff and junior managers, maximizing their contributions and professional growth. You will provide critical feedback and ensure that junior managers are equipped to manage their teams effectively, ensuring appropriate financial and human resource allocation.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 7-10 years of total work experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of management experience preferred.
  • CPP or equivalent designation preferred.
  • Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
