About the position

The Senior Vice President - Sanctions List Management role at BNY involves leading a team responsible for the organization and maintenance of various internal and external sanctions lists. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining the integrity of sanctions operations within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of List Management Analysts responsible for sanctions list organization and maintenance.
  • Oversee daily updates of mandatory Regulatory, Sanctions, and Internal lists.
  • Partner with Senior Management and the Global Sanctions Compliance team for approvals on sanctions list changes.
  • Ensure quality assurance and reconciliation procedures are performed for list updates per policy.
  • Maintain responsibility for enhancements of vendor-provided watchlists to identify outdated entries.
  • Oversee implementation of new or modified entries to vendor sanctions lists.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of all activities related to sanctions list updates.
  • Maintain records of sanctions screening list updates and quality reviews in accordance with recordkeeping requirements.
  • Support audit and validation requests for filter and alert monitoring systems.
  • Collaborate with the Testing and Tuning team for rule creation and approval.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 7-10 years of total work experience with 1-3 years of management experience preferred.
  • 10-12 years of combined work experience in Financial Services, Audit, and/or Compliance preferred.
  • 1 or more years of Sanctions experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Sanctions List Management preferred.
  • Familiarity with LexisNexis Bridger and Fircosoft systems is a plus.
