About the position

The Senior Video Editor/Director at SmithGroup is responsible for conceptualizing and directing creative video content that aligns with the firm's branding and communication strategies. This role involves managing video production projects, editing content, and maintaining video standards while supporting the evolution of the SmithGroup brand.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and direct strategic and aesthetically creative video content aligned with SmithGroup's overall creative approach.
  • Direct and manage video content produced in collaboration with internal or external partners and/or vendors.
  • Develop visual concepts through storyboards and sketches for a range of video assets.
  • Edit video content, including color correction, to meet cross-firm communication goals.
  • Assist in the development and management of video and photography standards, asset guidelines, libraries, and templates.
  • Support the evolution of the SmithGroup brand while maintaining the core corporate identity system.
  • Embody a commitment to innovation and experimentation to drive and evolve SmithGroup's video approach.

Requirements

  • 8+ years' experience in video editing/directing roles.
  • 5+ years' experience editing with non-linear editing tools, preferably Davinci Resolve and Premiere Pro.
  • 2+ years of project management experience related to video production projects preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in film, broadcasting, communications or a related field preferred.
  • A comprehensive understanding of digital workflows and file-based delivery.
  • Familiarity with shooting and operating digital cinema cameras, lights, and audio equipment.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing, visual storyboarding, video direction, and editing for various outputs.
  • Motion design & compositing experience in After Effects is a plus.
