About the position

The 700 Club, part of The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), is seeking a Senior Video Editor to join our dynamic production team in Nashville, TN. This role is pivotal in producing and delivering high-quality visual content for our daily live TV show, The 700 Club, as well as other programming. Our team is known for its creativity and ability to produce engaging features that include breaking news, inspirational stories, and live coverage of humanitarian efforts worldwide. As a Senior Video Editor, you will play a crucial role in shaping the visual narrative of our broadcasts, ensuring that each segment resonates with our audience and adheres to the highest production standards. In this position, you will be responsible for editing video content that is not only visually appealing but also aligns with the technical standards required for broadcast. You will work closely with producers and other team members to understand the vision for each project, utilizing your extensive experience and creative skills to bring that vision to life. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in postproduction, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a television or postproduction facility. You will need to demonstrate exceptional editing skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines. Your role will also involve staying updated with the latest editing technologies and techniques, ensuring that our production team remains at the forefront of the industry. You will be expected to handle various projects simultaneously, showcasing your ability to adapt to changing demands and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

  • Edit video content for The 700 Club and other programming, ensuring high-quality production standards.
  • Collaborate with producers and the production team to understand project requirements and vision.
  • Utilize advanced editing software and techniques to create compelling visual narratives.
  • Maintain knowledge of digital video effects, color correction, and audio mixing to enhance video quality.
  • Resolve technical issues related to hardware and software during the editing process.
  • Work under tight deadlines, demonstrating the ability to perform efficiently in high-pressure situations.
  • Adapt to varying shifts and last-minute work demands as required.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a postproduction or television facility.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of computer editing systems, software, and related equipment.
  • Exceptional editing skills with a focus on visual appeal and technical standards compliance.
  • Experience with DaVinci Resolve is a plus.
  • Ability to exercise judgment in selecting media for projects, especially in breaking news situations.
  • Knowledge of NTSC and PAL digital television standards and conversion techniques.
  • Skilled in color perception and meticulous attention to visual detail for color correction.
  • SBE Certification as a Broadcast Engineer with television endorsement preferred.
  • Mastery in digital video effects, videotape record machines, and signal processing equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.
  • Strong skills in complex audio mixing and editing techniques.
  • Competent diagnostic skills for resolving technical problems in digital editing processes.
