About the position

Confluent seeks a highly motivated Senior Video Editor to join our dynamic Video Team, an integral part of Confluent Creative Brand Services within our Marketing organization. In this fast-paced role, you'll play a pivotal part in our mission to "Up-Level Everything." Collaborate with a passionate team of go-getters and creative problem-solvers to elevate Confluent's video content to new heights. We're looking for an experienced professional who thrives in a creative environment and is eager to shape the future of corporate storytelling. In this role, you will be responsible for project management and collaboration, working closely with various teams to develop video concepts, production plans, and schedules. You will ensure timely project delivery, aligning video content with broader brand strategies. Additionally, you will manage on-site and remote video shoots, capturing high-quality footage and directing talent. Your responsibilities will also include video editing and post-production, where you will edit raw footage into polished videos, selecting optimal takes, incorporating audio, light animation, and motion graphics. You will implement stakeholder feedback and deliver final files in various formats. Furthermore, you will maintain video assets, troubleshoot technical issues, and stay updated on industry trends and software advancements, contributing to improving team processes and output quality. As a mentor and leader, you will provide constructive feedback and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their growth and development. Proficiency in camera operation, shooting techniques, and motion graphics animation is highly desirable, or a willingness to learn these skills is encouraged.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional video editing experience with in-depth knowledge of post-production processes and contemporary editing techniques.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, proactively exceeding expectations and delivering projects ahead of schedule.
  • Strong proficiency in industry-standard software, with the ability to independently troubleshoot issues.
  • Self-motivated and capable of independently managing and delivering projects.
  • At least 2 years of experience in corporate video production, preferably within the B2B software sector.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in camera operation and shooting techniques.
  • Experience in motion graphics animation or a willingness to learn.
