About the position

The 700 Club, produced by The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) in Virginia Beach, VA, is seeking a Senior Video Editor to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in creating and delivering network-quality features for our daily live TV show and other programming. The 700 Club is a news/magazine program that combines the variety and pace of a morning show with in-depth reporting from our global CBN staff. Our production team is known for its creativity, producing features and segments that include breaking news, inspirational stories, and live coverage of humanitarian relief efforts worldwide. If you are passionate about crafting compelling visual narratives and want to make a meaningful impact through your work, this is an opportunity you won't want to miss. As a Senior Video Editor, you will be responsible for utilizing your extensive editing skills to contribute effectively to our production team. We are looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a postproduction or television facility. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of computer editing systems, software, and related equipment, along with a creative approach to editing composition. You should be able to quickly learn new and advanced technologies, and your editing skills should be exceptional, as recognized by clients and peers alike. Experience with DaVinci Resolve is a plus. In this role, you will need to exercise sound judgment when given a script or project, selecting appropriate media for both filling and breaking news situations. A solid understanding of NTSC and PAL digital television standards, along with the necessary conversion techniques, is essential. You must also possess strong color perception and meticulous attention to detail, particularly in color correction. Preferred qualifications include SBE Certification as a Broadcast Engineer with a television endorsement, as well as mastery in digital video effects, videotape record machines, time base and signal processing equipment, and monitoring devices. Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills are crucial, as is the ability to handle complex audio mixing and editing techniques. You should be capable of diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to both hardware and software in digital editing processes. The ability to perform efficiently under high-pressure situations with tight deadlines is a must, along with the flexibility to adapt to varying shifts and last-minute work demands.
