The Wall Street Journal is seeking a senior video journalist for its Enterprise video team, based in New York. This role is pivotal in contributing to enterprise and video investigations coverage that make news. Senior video journalists are responsible for producing topical, news-focused, and feature videos that engage the audience. The ideal candidates will possess a professional background in video journalism, showcasing exceptional shooting and editing skills, along with experience in graphics. This position requires juggling multiple tasks and a passion for pitching, developing, researching, and reporting stories, as well as shooting and editing videos both in the studio and in the field. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with WSJ's reporters and editors across various coverage areas. Given that this is a global news operation, candidates must demonstrate successful execution of timely news projects completed within short time frames, as well as videos produced with longer lead times. The role reports to the Executive Producer of Enterprise, Video. The primary responsibilities include pitching, developing, researching, reporting, and writing enterprise videos; shooting and editing videos in-studio and in the field; partnering with reporters and editors to identify and produce timely video news pieces that are ambitious, visually distinctive, and of interest to the WSJ audience; managing multiple projects in various stages of production; finding innovative ways to cull stories from the news cycle and develop them into enterprise video; and ensuring adherence to all journalistic and legal standards at all times. The role may also require working late hours and weekends as news developments may warrant, along with completing additional duties as assigned.
