About the position

The New York Times is seeking a video journalist specializing in video editing for Times Opinion, specifically for The Ezra Klein Show. This role focuses on editing long-form podcasts into engaging digital videos while maintaining high aesthetic standards. The position requires collaboration with producers, cinematographers, and audio engineers to ensure seamless production and post-production processes under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage video editing of the Ezra Klein Show.
  • Take the lead in post production and delivery and guard aesthetic standards of the Ezra Klein Show.
  • Work with the Ezra Klein Show producers to ensure productions will create perfect video.
  • Collaborate with the Ezra Klein Show cinematographer to ensure fast and efficient workflow from production to post production.
  • Coordinate with the Ezra Klein Show audio engineers to ensure perfect audio quality in video.
  • Demonstrate support and understanding of journalistic independence and commitment to the mission of The New York Times.
  • Perform related work as assigned.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of editing and/or video journalism experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve.
  • Ability to edit quickly under tight deadlines.

Benefits

  • Annual base pay salary between $122,529.36 and $130,000.00.
