About the position

The New York Times is seeking a video journalist specializing in video editing for Times Opinion, specifically for The Ezra Klein Show. This role involves editing long-form podcasts into engaging digital videos, ensuring high aesthetic standards and quality under tight deadlines. The position also requires collaboration with producers, cinematographers, and audio engineers to deliver flawless productions while upholding the journalistic integrity of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage video editing of the Ezra Klein Show.
  • Take the lead in post production and delivery, guarding aesthetic standards of the Ezra Klein Show.
  • Work with the Ezra Klein Show producers to ensure productions create perfect video.
  • Collaborate with the Ezra Klein Show cinematographer for efficient workflow from production to post production.
  • Coordinate with the Ezra Klein Show audio engineers to ensure perfect audio quality in video.
  • Demonstrate support for journalistic independence and commitment to the mission of The New York Times.
  • Perform related work as assigned.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of editing and/or video journalism experience.
  • Ability to edit quickly with Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve.
