About the position

Fivetran is seeking a Senior Visual Designer to play a crucial role in shaping the design strategy and delivering exceptional design work. This position involves leading the design process within cross-functional teams, aligning design initiatives with business objectives, and advocating for the value of design across the organization. The designer will collaborate closely with stakeholders from marketing, product, and leadership teams to ensure strategic alignment and a deep understanding of customer needs and business goals.

Responsibilities

• Drive alignment between teams and stakeholders, ensuring clarity on project goals and actionable next steps.
• Advocate for design perspectives at all levels using data, storytelling, and persuasive visual design.
• Manage conflicts and maintain project momentum while ensuring team alignment.
• Articulate design thinking and decisions clearly to make complex trade-offs understandable for non-designers.
• Navigate and resolve conflicts between user needs and business goals, driving balanced design solutions.
• Help teams understand the purpose of their designs and the key user needs involved.
• Advocate for user needs in every design decision.
• Seek new insights and customer feedback to refine understanding of user needs.
• Contribute to and own design strategy and roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Align work with the company's overarching vision and demonstrate how designs contribute to business success.
• Define, measure, and exceed success metrics for design projects.
• Participate in roadmap discussions, providing design insights for strategic planning.
• Lead design innovation and identify opportunities for process optimization.
• Deliver projects on time with high-quality design execution.
• Translate complex design concepts into actionable plans for the team.
• Inspire and motivate the design team by setting a clear vision and supporting team members.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in design with a strong portfolio showcasing strategic thinking and high-quality design execution.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead design projects from concept to completion, delivering results on time.
• Expertise in user-centered design, balancing customer needs with business objectives.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to align cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Proven experience in influencing strategic roadmaps within a design or product organization.
• Strong problem-solving skills to navigate challenges and push for innovation.
• Passion for design culture and a desire to inspire and mentor team members.
