About the position

CapTech's Customer Experience (CX) team is seeking a Senior Visual Designer who has a proven track record of designing sophisticated digital brand experiences that are not only intuitive and impactful but also accessible. This role is ideal for designers who are passionate problem-solvers, eager to create elegant and attractive solutions to complex business challenges while continuously honing their craft as they advance in their careers. The ideal candidate will stay current with evolving methods for designing engaging products and services, approaching training in these areas with curiosity and enthusiasm. As a Senior Visual Designer, you will be expected to possess strong conceptual and visual communication skills, along with a solid understanding of interaction design and graphic design principles. You will be a strategic, brand-oriented product thinker, eager to provide highly creative ideas for all your engagements. Comfort in working within brand guidelines while also extending the design vocabulary as needed to create more engaging and accessible designs is essential. You should be a self-starter who can take feedback from clients and direction from Art Directors and Creative Directors, all while collaborating closely with project teams. Attention to detail is crucial, as is the ability to uphold and deliver work at the highest quality standards. Meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced and innovative environment is a must. Your responsibilities will include designing new, engaging digital experiences for web and mobile products, as well as extending and enhancing existing designs based on established design systems. You will perform competitive brand assessments and provide innovative alternatives, consult with clients and team members about the benefits of accessible experience and visual design, and contribute to creating personas, customer journeys, conceptual prototypes, and responsive interfaces that follow interaction design and usability best practices. Additionally, you will create clean, informative, and concise presentations to clients and internal teams that communicate the rationale behind your designs, while also researching and understanding design and technology trends.

Responsibilities

  • Designing new, engaging digital experiences for web and mobile products.
  • Extending and enhancing existing designs based on established design systems.
  • Performing competitive brand assessments and providing innovative alternatives.
  • Consulting with clients and team members about the benefits of accessible experience and visual design.
  • Contributing to and creating personas, customer journeys, conceptual prototypes, and responsive interfaces that follow interaction design and usability best practices.
  • Creating clean, informative, and concise presentations to clients and internal teams that communicate the rationale behind your designs.
  • Researching and understanding design and technology trends.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years professional experience, ideally in a consulting or agency context.
  • 4-year+ degree, BA in Design, Fine Arts, or similar preferred.
  • Proven written, verbal, conceptual, and visual communication skills.
  • Figma expertise is preferred, with proficiency in comparable design tools (Sketch, Adobe XD).
  • Proficiency with Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, as well as PowerPoint.
  • Experience with video editing, motion design, and designing for AR/VR are pluses.
  • Working familiarity with the role of Product Designer is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Agile product development lifecycles and practices is a plus.
  • Familiarity with WCAG and other accessibility guidelines and standards is a plus.
