About the position

The Senior Graphic Designer is a two-year term position responsible for creating visually appealing designs for both print and digital media. This role involves managing graphic design tasks, refining projects, and generating creative ideas to enhance brand consistency and user engagement across multiple platforms. The designer will collaborate with clients and other professionals to develop project concepts and production schedules, ensuring that all designs meet NEA standard specifications.

Responsibilities

• Create original graphic art for print media, websites, and multimedia projects.
• Develop project concepts and production schedules with clients.
• Discuss delivery methods, audience, message, vehicle, budget, and product(s).
• Work with outside vendors to produce ad hoc projects.
• Prepare job specifications and send completed digital files to prepress or print vendors.
• Review and evaluate color corrections and proofs for accuracy.
• Collaborate with other graphic artists and production personnel to design and produce projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, Visual Communication, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least six years of progressively responsible professional experience in print and digital design.
• Demonstrated mastery of design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Understanding of print and digital processes and file preparation.
• Strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Interest or experience in animation and motion graphics.
• Experience negotiating printing specifications and costs with clients and external vendors.
