About the position

The U.S. Omni & Platforms Tech Strategic Communications team is an integral part of Walmart Global Technology, focusing on a variety of brand-centric projects that enhance both internal and external communications. This role involves creating engaging presentations, managing asset libraries, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to evolve brand design systems. The team is dedicated to developing comprehensive experiences for customers and associates, ensuring that all communications align with Walmart's organizational strategy. As a Senior Visual Designer, you will be responsible for crafting captivating presentations that effectively convey ideas and products to leadership and partners. You will work closely with designers, copywriters, product managers, and executives to ensure that the brand's voice and strategy are consistently represented across all platforms. In this position, you will also be tasked with giving and soliciting feedback from various stakeholders, fostering a culture of excellence by developing best practices and design processes that promote agility and collaboration. Your role will require you to manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating your ability to deliver high-quality work independently while influencing and inspiring your peers. The ideal candidate will have a strong design portfolio showcasing their expertise in presentation design, brand systems, and illustration work, along with a proven track record of effective communication and collaboration in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

  • Create captivating and professionally branded presentations for leadership, partners, and product owners.
  • Manage asset libraries for reusable, systematic presentation design.
  • Collaborate with designers, copywriters, product managers, executives, and other cross-functional partners to evolve brand design systems.
  • Shape the evolution of the brands, products, voice, and strategy through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Give and solicit feedback from designers and cross-disciplinary stakeholders.
  • Inspire and sustain a culture of excellence by developing best practices and design processes.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant design experience, either in-house or at agencies.
  • A design portfolio showcasing presentation designs, brand, and illustration work.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and adapt quickly to changes.
  • Experience in designing brand systems, presentation designs, and illustrations.
  • Outstanding craft with typography and content hierarchy.
  • Self-motivated problem-solver with a strong track record of delivering work independently.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), and Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

  • Design certification (e.g., IDEOU - Foundations in Design Thinking Certificate).
  • Master's degree in UI/UX Design, Interactive and Visual Design, or related area.
  • Experience in retail, supply chain, eCommerce, or healthcare industries.
  • Knowledge of creating inclusive digital experiences and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.
