About the position

The Senior Visual Designer at Snap Inc. will play a pivotal role in defining and evolving the visual identity of Snapchat products. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create compelling user experiences and design systems that enhance brand recognition. The designer will lead visual strategy, manage design projects, and ensure consistency across all in-product assets, contributing to the overall product vision and user engagement.

Responsibilities

• Define crucial elements of Design Systems, including illustration and motion design.
• Own the visual design of all in-product assets across Snapchat products.
• Collaborate with product designers, engineering, and other artists to build world-class experiences.
• Inspire the team with a vision for the future of the product experience.
• Lead visual strategy and define principles that connect product design with the brand.
• Architect large design projects that set precedents for the company.
• Evolve Snapchat's visual identity across various touchpoints.
• Partner with Product Design to create polished user experiences.
• Develop and maintain design systems for scalability and consistency.
• Create compelling 3D and 2D visual designs for UI and marketing initiatives.
• Design motion and interaction elements to enhance user experience.
• Build strong relationships with leadership and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience.
• 5+ years of design experience.
• Expertise in creating and scaling design systems with a focus on component libraries.
• Proven ability to develop and document brand guidelines and strategies.
• Proficiency with design tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration.
• Experience in motion and interaction design.
