About the position

Intuit's Brand & Transformation team is seeking a wildly creative Senior Visual Designer to join our diverse team of creative talent. This role is pivotal in galvanizing our customers and employees around a meaningful and unified Intuit vision. As part of a centrally-located brand team, the Senior Visual Designer will lead Intuit's visual identity, art direction, and brand design system across various channels, including go-to-market advertising, event experiences, video, digital and interactive activations, and core brand deliverables. The designer will collaborate closely with executive stakeholders, cross-organizational partners, and external agencies to scale our craft across the company, ensuring that our visual communications resonate with our audience and reflect our brand values. In this role, the Senior Visual Designer will apply strategic visual thinking and design skills to deliver end-to-end brand creative visual solutions that align with business strategy and goals. This includes building equity in Intuit's visual identity and showcasing world-class design refinement. The designer will lead the design buildout from project inception to delivery, which encompasses research, wide explorations, concept refinement, and production delivery. Utilizing industry design standards and best practices, the designer will define and implement design criteria, guidelines, and specifications. As a creative leader within the organization, the Senior Visual Designer will share inspiration, evangelize good design practices, mentor junior creatives, and model a collaborative creative studio mindset. Effective collaboration with other team designers, researchers, leadership, project stakeholders, program management, marketing, and other team members is essential. The designer will need to prioritize work, multi-task effectively, and manage creative bandwidth while clearly escalating any constraints. Additionally, the designer will support adjacent areas such as art direction and design production when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Apply strategic visual thinking and design skills to deliver end-to-end brand creative visual solutions that build on business strategy and goals.
  • Lead design buildout from project beginning to delivery, including research, go-wide explorations, concept refinement, and production delivery.
  • Utilize industry design standards and best practices to define and implement design criteria, design guidelines, and design specs.
  • Act as a creative leader for the organization, sharing inspiration, helping evangelize good design practices, mentoring junior creatives, and role modeling a collaborative creative studio mindset.
  • Collaborate effectively with other team designers, researchers, leadership/project stakeholders, program management, marketing, and other team members.
  • Prioritize work & multi-task well; wear multiple hats, self-manage creative bandwidth, and clearly escalate constraints.
  • Support adjacent areas like art direction and design production when needed.

Requirements

  • Strong conceptual thinking and ability to articulate design rationale to non-designers.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and extending brand visual identities, creating award-winning design pieces, scaling end-to-end event identities.
  • Deep understanding and expertise in core areas of visual design, including typography, grid/layout, color theory, logo + identity design, design systems, photography, and how to create a range of expressive tones from combining those elements.
  • Working knowledge of photo/video art direction is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of project and design processes that yield world-class work, and the ability to self-manage bandwidth to effectively meet milestones and deadlines.
  • Intimate knowledge of the latest design tools and workflows, including Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Wrike, and other project management tools.
  • Experience with AI tools like Midjourney/Dalle is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of production best practices for print and digital output, including experience coordinating with vendors, proofing, and file management for handoff.
  • Comfortable working both independently and with internal/external creative collaborators, copywriters, art directors, etc.
  • Comfortable with a level of ambiguity and operating autonomously to ensure project progress, including clearly communicating with leaders and project stakeholders to ensure roadblocks are mitigated.
  • BA degree in graphic design or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AI tools like Midjourney/Dalle is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of photo/video art direction is a plus.
