About the position

The Senior Visual Merchandiser role within the Columbia North America Retail Brand Marketing team focuses on creating and executing visual merchandising standards for Columbia retail stores. This position is integral in enhancing consumer experiences through strategic in-store marketing initiatives, collaboration with various teams, and ensuring consistency across different retail channels. The role requires a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills to elevate the brand's presence in the marketplace.

Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver visual merchandising directives for the CSC Brand in full brand and employee stores.
  • Align with the Employee Store Visual Merchandise manager to ensure consistency across both channels.
  • Support Full Price Brand Store strategy by providing detailed direction to stores for visual merchandising.
  • Create and deliver monthly campaign directives for mannequin presentations and product placement.
  • Develop and ensure execution of visual presentation standards for Brand Stores.
  • Manage best practices and strategize with the retail team for updates and changes.
  • Partner to deliver compelling seasonal storytelling initiatives and floor-set directives.
  • Manage the development and compliance of visual merchandising training tools.
  • Support the zone plan for new/remodel stores in collaboration with Merchant partners.
  • Update and maintain seasonal fixture and store capacities for planning and development.
  • Collaborate with Merchant partners during assortment planning to provide retail presentation insights.
  • Provide content and visual slides during seasonal buy reviews to support merchant teams.
  • Leverage local market insights to ensure Brand Stores remain competitive in visual merchandising.
  • Manage WorkForce online visual tool with task assignments and feedback.
  • Work closely with the Merchant team to adjust product placement based on selling trends.

Requirements

  • BA or equivalent with a focus on retail merchandising, retail planning, or visual.
  • 5-8 years of professional experience in retail merchandising or related fields.
  • Strong competency with various tools, systems, and procedures required for the job.
  • Advanced experience with CAD, InDesign, Sketch Up, and Photoshop.
  • Proven experience documenting standards and directives.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to meet tight timelines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Agile and flexible in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Strong organizational and calendaring skills.
