About the position

The Senior Visual Merchandiser role within the Columbia NA Store Experience Team focuses on developing and executing visual merchandising standards for Columbia Sportswear Company in North America. This position is integral in enhancing the consumer experience through strategic in-store marketing and visual storytelling, ensuring consistency across full-price retail and Employee Store channels. The role requires collaboration with various teams to create compelling visual presentations that align with seasonal initiatives and marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver visual merchandising directives for the CSC Brand in full brand and employee stores.
  • Align with the Employee Store Visual Merchandise manager to ensure consistency across both channels.
  • Support Full Price Brand Store strategy by providing detailed direction to elevate the visual merchandising experience.
  • Create and deliver monthly campaign directives for mannequin presentations and product placement.
  • Develop and ensure execution of visual presentation standards for Brand Stores.
  • Partner to deliver compelling seasonal storytelling initiatives and floor-set directives.
  • Manage the development and innovation of visual merchandising training and compliance tools.
  • Support in the zone plan for new/remodel stores based on collaboration with Merchant partners.
  • Update and maintain seasonal fixture and store capacities for planning and development.
  • Collaborate with Merchant partners during assortment planning to provide retail presentation insights.
  • Provide content and visual slides during seasonal buy reviews to support merchant teams.
  • Understand local market and competitors to ensure Brand Stores are relevant and competitive.
  • Manage WorkForce online visual tool with task assignments and feedback.
  • Work closely with the Merchant team to adjust product placement and inventory levels.

Requirements

  • BA or equivalent with focus on retail merchandising, retail planning or visual.
  • 5-8 years of professional experience in retail merchandising or related field.
  • Strong competency with various tools, systems, and procedures required for the job.
  • Advanced experience with CAD, InDesign, Sketch Up, and Photoshop.
  • Proven experience documenting standards and directives.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to meet tight timelines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Agile and flexible in an ever-changing retail environment.
  • Strong organizational and calendaring skills.
