About the position

The Senior Wastewater Engineer will lead or support the design and construction administration of water and wastewater infrastructure projects in the New York and New Jersey area. This role requires strong technical expertise and a customer-centric approach to deliver high-quality solutions to complex water challenges. The position offers a hybrid work model and flexible scheduling options, emphasizing collaboration with project teams and clients.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and lead project teams in the planning, design, and construction administration of municipal and industrial water and wastewater infrastructure facilities.
• Interact with clients, conduct presentations, and coordinate projects.
• Coordinate project assignments and tasks with technical staff and partners across multiple disciplines.
• Develop and implement study and design standards, lead progress meetings, prepare meeting agendas and minutes, and track project schedules.
• Communicate with various municipalities and governmental regulating agencies.
• Oversee construction contract management and observation services.
• Prepare reports and permit applications.
• Demonstrate professional technical writing and verbal skills.
• Engage in the engineering industry, particularly in the water/wastewater sector.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
• 5-10+ years of experience in the water/wastewater discipline, particularly in designing water and/or wastewater infrastructure.
• Professional Engineer License (PE) in New York or New Jersey preferred.
• Progressive experience in evaluation, design, permitting, and construction administration of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and distribution systems.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is strongly preferred.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
