About the position
The Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer at AECOM is responsible for leading and managing municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role involves overseeing the design and construction of various systems, including water pipelines, sewage collection systems, and treatment plants, while ensuring quality control and adherence to project budgets and schedules.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a project engineer on municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects including water pipelines, sewage collection systems, pump stations, storage tanks, water treatment systems, wastewater treatment systems, etc.
- Leading the preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and other project documents.
- Overseeing construction phase engineering services.
- Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
- Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
- Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
- Participating in professional societies relevant to the industry.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- Six (6) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in Florida or ability to obtain reciprocity within six (6) months of hire.
Nice-to-haves
- Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Experience and familiarity with the following programs: ArcGIS, AutoCAD, REVIT, MicroStation, SWMM, and/or Storm/Sewer/WaterCAD.
- Proven interpersonal skills, including client interaction, public speaking, and persuasive ability; strong project financial management along with ability to lead diverse, multi-disciplined teams.
