About the position

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager to join their Resilience Water Team in Houston, Texas. This role involves utilizing technical expertise to manage and execute projects related to municipal water and wastewater systems, including distribution and collection systems, pump stations, and treatment plants. The position focuses on project management from planning through construction, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards, and fostering client relationships to grow the practice in the Houston area.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects, tasks, and clients through the planning, design, and construction of water/wastewater distribution/collection systems, pump/lift stations, and treatment plants.
  • Prepare complete design packages for engineering, procurement, and construction of water, wastewater, and stormwater projects.
  • Coordinate project execution with other disciplines.
  • Work directly with clients to determine needs and provide solutions, leading teams in proposal preparation and presentations.
  • Manage condition assessment evaluations for water, wastewater, and storm system assets.
  • Create and manage cost estimates and project schedules, ensuring tasks are completed within budget and on schedule.
  • Supervise and support the work of others, mentoring junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Ensure project compliance with Arcadis practices and quality and safety standards.
  • Travel as needed for client meetings and project site visits.

Requirements

  • 8 years of water/wastewater experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • PE License in Texas.
  • Project experience in design and construction of water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, stormwater systems, treatment plants, and pump/lift stations.
  • Experience managing project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Excellent technical engineering and project/task management skills in the water/wastewater area.
  • Strong client relationship skills, including proposal preparation and client management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 10 years of experience in the field.
  • Experience as the engineer of record for water transmission/distribution systems and wastewater collection systems in the Houston market.
  • Current client relationships in the Houston market.
  • Alternative delivery project experience.
  • Active participation in professional associations.
  • NASSCO PACP/MACP/LACP Certification.
