About the position

The Senior Web App Developer will play a crucial role in developing a next-generation SaaS presentation tool aimed at enhancing the learning and teaching of complex topics. This position is set to begin in July/August of 2025, pending funding from the National Science Foundation. The developer will be responsible for building scalable single-page web applications and will work closely with a team in a stealth deep tech start-up environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable single-page web applications using modern web technologies.
• Collaborate with team members to design and implement new features for the SaaS presentation tool.
• Write clear, modular, and well-documented code to ensure maintainability and performance.
• Interface with RESTful APIs and manage state using libraries like Redux or MobX.
• Utilize testing frameworks to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in frontend development with a focus on scalable applications.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and React.js.
• Experience with TypeScript in large-scale applications.
• Familiarity with state management libraries like Redux or MobX.
• Knowledge of build tools and bundlers such as Webpack and Babel.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and version control systems, particularly Git.
• Experience with testing frameworks like Jest or Mocha.
• Solid grasp of CSS Grids and Flexbox for complex layouts.
• Ability to write clear, modular, and well-documented code.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience showcasing a SaaS product for creators, such as a presentation tool or website builder.
