About the position

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Senior Web Designer to join their communications team at the International Headquarters in Boone, NC. This role involves developing and maintaining web pages, collaborating on digital media projects, and using design skills to advance the organization's mission of sharing the Gospel. The position emphasizes a strong Christian witness and participation in daily devotions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Creative Service Manager, Creative Director, and other team members to create digital media deliverables.
• Design and produce digital media for all digital properties of Samaritan's Purse.
• Maintain and update the Samaritan's Purse website and other digital properties using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Produce web deliverables using progressive enhancement techniques, including animation and effects.
• Optimize custom HTML emails for various devices using HTML tables and media queries.
• Manage time and workload efficiently to meet deliverables.
• Work with outside web vendors as needed.
• Follow policies and procedures as set forth in the Policy Manual.
• Participate in daily morning devotions and prayer support for the ministry.
• Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues and the public.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a design-related discipline and a minimum of seven years of interactive digital/web design experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Mac and PC web design environments.
• Experience with web IDE applications like Dreamweaver or Coda.
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, and other design applications.
• Strong understanding of typography, design, and graphic illustration techniques.
• Proficiency in coding languages including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Knowledge of progressive enhancement techniques and responsive design.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Strong communication skills to articulate design concepts and decisions.

Nice-to-haves
