We are seeking a Senior Windows Systems Administrator to join our AFNCR team supporting the Air Force District of Washington at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB) in Washington, D.C. In this role, you will manage the MS Endpoint Management platform in a distributed environment and perform routine maintenance of network and systems infrastructure. You will develop procedures to ensure that the entire team has the skills necessary to support the corporate infrastructure, including all backend systems and VPN networks. You will support and may lead tasks associated with the design, build, implementation, and administration of the On-Premises environment. You will work closely with IT management and business leaders to deliver allocated server administration tasks within defined timeframes. Monitoring and analyzing server performance across the organization will be a key responsibility, as well as recommending and remedying current and future performance bottlenecks. You will conduct OS hardening to the required security level and support vulnerability remediation activities in the server environment as per the guidance of the security team, recommending implementation plans when necessary. Enforcing IT security policies, standards, and practices will also be part of your duties. In addition, you will support incident resolution activities and escalations, requiring excellent written and oral communication skills to present complex technical topics related to the infrastructure environment to various audiences. Documenting changes to the systems following company change management policy and creating and maintaining complete technical documentation for relevant processes or new features will assist in standardization across the organization. Collaboration with other IT staff, including networking, security, endpoint, and collaboration tools teams, will facilitate effective issue resolution. You will also monitor and support license compliance and renewal activities for the related server environment and suggest and implement improvements to the environment.
