About the position

The Senior Windows System Engineer will be responsible for the administration and management of Microsoft Windows Server environments, including VMWare and Citrix virtual hosting. This role requires expertise in Windows PowerShell scripting, Active Directory Services, and VDI solutions, along with the ability to design and implement complex IT solutions independently. The engineer will also mentor junior administrators and ensure the integrity of peer designs while adapting to meet complex customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, deploy, and maintain Microsoft-based servers, databases, and workstations as well as VMware and Linux server instances.
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain Citrix Virtual Desktops environments based on Windows and Server OS.
  • Design and implement new IT technologies in an operational always-on environment.
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain auditing and monitoring tools (Solarwinds, Splunk, AD Audit).
  • Provide tier 2/3 support of Windows environment from a Systems Engineer perspective.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 12 years of prior relevant experience or a Master's degree with 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Must have a TS/SCI with Poly to be considered.
  • 10 years of experience in Windows System Engineering.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with HP Proliant, Cisco, Taclane KG-175F, Dell Servers.
  • Familiarity with CentOS Linux and RedHat operating systems.
  • Experience with NetApp, CommVault, and Backup Exec storage solutions.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server, VMWare vCenter, Citrix, Trellix/Move, MS Exchange, and PDQ Deploy software.
  • Understanding of various protocols including DHCP, DNS, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, TCP/IP, and LDAP/SCP.
  • Experience with security protocols such as SafeNet, NMAP, Rapid 7, HP WebInspect, and Nessus.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Solarwinds SEM, Splunk, and AD Audit.
  • Knowledge of network security practices including WSUS, PKI, SSP, and Vulnerability Assessment.
