About the position

GDIT is seeking a Senior Windows Systems/Server Administrator to help maintain an enterprise level product suite by supporting our FMTS contract in Alexandria, VA. This position requires the employee to report full-time, onsite. As a Senior Windows Systems/Server Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of our ERP (PeopleSoft HCM) application across multiple servers and environments. Your responsibilities will include monitoring system performance, identifying potential bottlenecks, and implementing improvements to enhance system efficiency. You will also be tasked with resolving system issues, software bugs, and network connectivity problems, ensuring that all systems are secure by implementing security policies and responding to security incidents. In this role, you will manage user accounts and access permissions, document system configurations, procedures, and policies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business requirements for ERP projects. You will be responsible for performing system backups, disaster recovery, and ensuring system uptime and availability. Additionally, you will provide training to end-users on ERP system functionality and best practices. Your expertise in Windows Server Administration, cloud services, and ERP applications will be essential in driving the success of our operations and supporting the Department of Defense's mission to keep our country safe and secure.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor system performance on an ERP (PeopleSoft HCM) application to ensure optimal operation across multiple servers and environments.
  • Identify and resolve system issues, software bugs, and network connectivity problems.
  • Create and manage user accounts and access permissions for various systems and applications.
  • Implement security policies to ensure system security and respond to security incidents.
  • Manage the configuration and operation of on-premises and cloud-based services, including provisioning and configuring cloud services.
  • Research event-log warnings and errors; monitor resources to ensure seamless operation of systems architecture components.
  • Document all system configurations, procedures, and policies for effective management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business requirements and objectives for ERP projects.
  • Understand and create custom reports using system software.
  • Perform system backups, disaster recovery, and ensure system uptime/availability.
  • Provide training to end-users on ERP system functionality, best practices, and new features.

Requirements

  • Possess a current DoD SECRET clearance and maintain T5 Security Background Investigation for IT Level I access.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification is required.
  • CompTIA Server+ certification is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is required.
  • 10+ years of Windows System Administration experience is required.
  • Demonstrated Systems Administration experience with Windows Server Administration is required.
  • Experience maintaining Windows servers per DoD compliance, including Cyber Hardening, Cyber Compliance, Patch Management, Configuration Management, and Release Management is required.
  • Cloud experience is required.
  • General knowledge of ERP applications and their functional areas is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences is required.
  • Basic Project Management skills to build, manage, and execute plans is required.

  • Ability to convey technical information to non-technical individuals is preferred.
