About the position

The Senior Wireless Network Engineer at Databricks is responsible for scaling the campus network infrastructure and implementing a zero trust framework to support the company's rapid growth. This role involves managing LAN, WAN, and VPN solutions, ensuring secure and high-performance network experiences, and developing automation for network management. The engineer will collaborate with security and compliance teams, assist in capacity planning, and mentor team members while contributing to the overall network strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Databricks LAN, WAN, and VPN infrastructure to ensure high availability and low latency.
  • Develop and implement network automation using tools like Ansible and Terraform.
  • Facilitate partnerships with security and compliance teams to ensure seamless security design in the network.
  • Assist in capacity planning and drive outcomes through network analytics and partner feedback.
  • Promote knowledge transfer and mentoring within the team, maintaining detailed system documentation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in designing and building redundant network infrastructure for campus networks, particularly wireless.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with Aruba Wireless, Aruba Clearpass, and Aruba Central Switching.
  • Proficiency in Python, Go, Ansible, Terraform, or similar languages.
  • Understanding of OSI Layer and its applications.
  • Experience with secure transport methods (SSH, TLS, IPSEC), IAM, VPCs, and VPN solutions.
  • Familiarity with APIs for network automation and monitoring solutions.
  • Understanding of Zero Trust IT security models, including Zscaler and Palo Alto Networks Prisma access solutions.
  • Experience with network capabilities implementation in AWS and hybrid scenarios.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with network analytics tools and dashboarding solutions.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure deployments and their specific networking challenges.
