About the position

Symbotic is seeking a Senior Wireless Network Engineer to provide technical support on data networks for internal and external customers. This role involves technical leadership for wireless data network problem escalation and resolution, ensuring optimal network performance and security across various platforms. The engineer will work within the Product IT department, focusing on configuring and troubleshooting network infrastructure, including wireless technologies and firewalls.

Responsibilities

  • Review, design, and support wireless network infrastructure (WLAN/WWAN), Firewalls, and Cabling.
  • Collaborate with other IT functions to design and support systems for internal needs.
  • Research new technologies and assess their potential use for internal and external customer needs.
  • Manage projects from initial scoping to deployment.
  • Troubleshoot system outages and collaborate with technical staff to resolve issues.
  • Automate responses to non-exceptional service conditions to prevent problem recurrence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience as a network engineer in Wireless local and wide area networks.
  • Experience with HP Aruba wireless technology, including implementing 802.1x, Airwave, and ClearPass.
  • Experience with SD-WAN technologies, deployment, and optimization.
  • Familiarity with 4G/LTE and CBRS is a plus.
  • Experience with network performance monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows servers, with an emphasis on Linux and virtualization technologies.
  • Experience with networking technologies and topologies (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, etc.).
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure networking.
  • Knowledge of deployment technologies including Kickstart and automation tools such as Ansible.
  • Experience working in a multi-tenant high uptime production environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CWNA, CPI.
  • Inside plant engineering experience with fiber and copper plant planning.
  • Experience with installation and maintenance of outdoor fixed wireless systems.
