AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. Responsibilities
- Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.
- Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers' largest and most critical business challenges.
- Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re: Invent, etc.
- Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best in class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.
- Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide.
- Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.
- Engage as expert practitioners with a select set of customers to ensure first-hand knowledge of customer use cases and challenges.
- Demonstrate thought leadership and credibly represent AWS at industry events, conferences, symposiums, etc.
- Serve as a focal point for representing voice and needs of the customer, working with internal customer facing teams and product/service teams to influence the product roadmap.
- Lead initiatives to scale innovation and modernization for SAP on AWS, through expertise and guidance, creating new technical and go to market content.
- Maintain expertise across their entire domain, and to consider/explore adjacent areas to anticipate future use cases and opportunities.
Requirements
- 7+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 5+ years management of technical, customer facing resources
- 5+ years experience in SAP business processes (Order to Cash, Procure to Pay) and integrations with related third party software (examples: order mgmt., warehouse mgmt., financial planning, transportation and logistics carriers, EDI, etc.)
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of SAP systems (SAP ECC, S/4 HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Central Finance, etc.) and their architecture and integration patterns
- History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with large-scale customers or enterprises
- Experience migrating or transforming Legacy customer solutions to the cloud
- Familiarity with common enterprise services and working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers.
- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries
- AWS Solution Architecture certification or relevant cloud expertise
- Computer Science/relevant degree and/or experience highly desired
- Experience with ABAP programming and integration of Middleware products with SAP (examples: SAP PO/PI, Boomi, Qlik, Mulesoft, Tibco)
- Experience building SAP BTP applications with Fiori, Cloud Application Programming (CAP), Kyma (Kubernetes), or Cloud Foundry
