About the position

As a Senior World Wide Specialist Solutions Architect for SAP on AWS, you will be part of a dynamic team that addresses complex challenges faced by customers in their cloud journey. Your role will involve leveraging your deep domain-specific expertise to craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that meet the unique needs of each customer. You will work closely with customers to guide them through the process of refactoring applications or designing entirely new cloud-based systems, ensuring that their business-critical problems are solved effectively. In this position, you will represent the voice of the customer, bringing valuable feedback to product teams to influence feature development and the future product roadmap. You will provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain-aligned go-to-market (GTM) teams, helping to unblock our customers' largest and most critical business challenges. As a thought leader, you will share best practices through various forums, including AWS blogs, whitepapers, and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit and AWS re:Invent. Your responsibilities will also include partnering with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best-in-class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives. You will develop and support an internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide, creating field enablement materials to help the broader Solutions Architect population understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures. A typical day will involve engaging as an expert practitioner with a select set of customers, ensuring you have firsthand knowledge of their use cases and challenges. You will demonstrate thought leadership and represent AWS credibly at industry events, conferences, and symposiums. Additionally, you will lead initiatives to scale innovation and modernization for SAP on AWS, maintaining expertise across your domain while exploring adjacent areas to anticipate future use cases and opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.
  • Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers' largest and most critical business challenges.
  • Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re: Invent, etc.
  • Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best in class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.
  • Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide.
  • Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.
  • Engage as expert practitioners with a select set of customers to ensure first-hand knowledge of customer use cases and challenges.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and credibly represent AWS at industry events, conferences, symposiums, etc.
  • Lead initiatives to scale innovation and modernization for SAP on AWS, through expertise and guidance, creating new technical and go to market content.
  • Maintain expertise across their entire domain, and to consider/explore adjacent areas to anticipate future use cases and opportunities.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.
  • 5+ years management of technical, customer facing resources.
  • 5+ years experience in SAP business processes (Order to Cash, Procure to Pay) and integrations with related third party software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of SAP systems (SAP ECC, S/4 HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Central Finance, etc.) and their architecture and integration patterns.
  • History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with large-scale customers or enterprises.
  • Experience migrating or transforming Legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
  • Familiarity with common enterprise services and working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers.
  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
  • AWS Solution Architecture certification or relevant cloud expertise.
  • Computer Science/relevant degree and/or experience highly desired.
  • Experience with ABAP programming and integration of Middleware products with SAP.
  • Experience building SAP BTP applications with Fiori, Cloud Application Programming (CAP), Kyma (Kubernetes), or Cloud Foundry.
