About the position

The Senior Worldwide Solutions Architect for EC2 Performance at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a key role focused on addressing complex customer challenges through expert-level technical architecture. This position involves collaborating with various teams to drive the adoption of Amazon EC2 Compute resources, developing technical documentation, and enabling customers to leverage the full potential of AWS services. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, customer engagement, and the ability to present solutions to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for EC2 instances, supporting customers globally.
  • Collaborate with engineering, business development, and technical field teams to drive EC2 adoption.
  • Develop white papers, blogs, reference architectures, and presentations to educate customers and partners on EC2 value.
  • Lead enablement initiatives to enhance the technical capabilities of field teams.
  • Advocate for customer needs with service teams to ensure the development of optimal products.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience with distributed applications.
  • 5+ years of experience debugging and troubleshooting applications developed in Java, Ruby, Python, C/C++, Go, or Rust.
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing and interpreting performance metrics and logs.
  • 5+ years of experience deploying and running containers at scale, including orchestration technologies like EKS and ECS.
  • 3+ years of experience presenting to senior leadership within a customer or partner organization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to understand the impact of cross-az/cross-region on network communication latency and application performance.
  • Familiarity with common enterprise services and working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable speaking with executives, IT management, and developers.
  • Technical leadership skills to identify opportunities and influence AWS platform adoption based on business requirements.
  • AWS Solution Architecture certification or relevant cloud expertise.
  • Computer Science or relevant degree and/or experience.
