About the position

The Catered Meal Site Manager for the Seniors United for Nutrition (SUN) Program is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a meal site, ensuring the delivery of quality meals to seniors. This role involves managing a team of volunteers, coordinating meal preparation, and maintaining a welcoming environment for participants. The Site Manager also handles logistics related to meal orders, food safety, and participant engagement, while reporting directly to the Executive Director.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise a large volunteer team.
  • Create a welcoming environment for senior group meals.
  • Lead and schedule enrichment activities for older Americans.
  • Order meals from the caterer and manage participant reservations.
  • Receive food from the caterer and ensure it meets safety temperature levels.
  • Prepare the dining area and serve meals on-site.
  • Monitor food quality and report concerns to the Executive Director.
  • Recruit, schedule, and direct volunteers for the meal program.
  • Maintain positive public relations within the community.
  • Attend required training and meetings.

Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED.
  • One year of previous experience in a food service environment preferred.
  • Experience working with older adults and volunteers beneficial.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with a non-profit agency and the needs of seniors is desirable.
  • Knowledge of safe and sanitary food handling techniques.
  • Basic computer skills, such as Google Sheets and email.
