About the position

The Senior Specialist, Info Security Systems Engineer at L3Harris is responsible for applying current systems security engineering methods and technologies to ensure the security of systems and networks. This role involves working closely with government customers to define and implement security requirements throughout the system lifecycle, ensuring compliance and security authorization. The position requires collaboration with systems developers and vendors to design and evaluate secure systems, utilizing various security methods and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Apply systems security engineering methods to architecture, design, development, evaluation, and integration of systems and networks.
  • Work with government customers to define and implement security protection needs and requirements.
  • Collaborate with systems developers and vendors to design and evaluate secure systems and networks.
  • Utilize encryption technology, vulnerability analysis, and security management methods.
  • Prepare Certification and Accreditation documentation to achieve security authorization of systems.
  • Contribute to Product or Network Information Security Engineering activities, including security requirements analysis and secure architecture development.
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, and requirements derivation to translate customer security requirements into specifications.
  • Provide Information Assurance technical leadership for development teams of new multi-discipline products.
  • Develop security overlays, data flow diagrams, and interface control documents from customer requirements.
  • Identify security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities of networks and systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience, or minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • TS/SCI security clearance required.
  • DOD 8140 IAT 2 certification.
  • Strong familiarity with Linux.
  • Experience in writing and managing RMF body of evidence documents.

Nice-to-haves

  • TS/SCI w/CI Polygraph is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with Model Based System Engineering (UML, SysML, DoDAF).
  • DoD 8140.03 IAT 3 or IASAE Level 2 certification.
  • Experience in configuration and use of cyber defense and vulnerability assessment tools such as ACAS and SCC.
  • Understanding of vulnerability analysis tools such as Tenable Security products.
  • Experience in the content development and administration of SEIM/audit reduction tools (e.g., Splunk).
  • AWS cloud security knowledge including architecture, design, deployment, and management of cloud security technologies.
  • Scripting experience (Bash/Shell, Python, Perl, PowerShell).
