Computer and Electronic Product Manufacturing

About the position

The Sensor team at Apple is at the forefront of developing groundbreaking sensors that are integral to a variety of Apple platforms, including Audio, iPads, Macs, and Accessories. In this role, you will be instrumental in specifying, developing, characterizing, and validating sensor systems that are utilized across these platforms. A strong understanding of product integration and manufacturing technologies is essential, particularly as they pertain to the implementation of sensors in consumer products. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with technologies such as capacitive touch sensors, which are critical to the functionality of many Apple devices. As part of your responsibilities, you will be encouraged to specify, build, and validate capacitive sensors for new product applications. This will involve working collaboratively across multiple functions, including test, firmware, and system engineering teams, as well as product operations teams. Your contributions will be vital in delivering new sensor designs and their integration into products. You will also be responsible for schematic design of PCBs and/or flexible assemblies, conducting failure mode analysis, diagnosing root causes, and engaging in system-level problem solving. Hands-on bench measurements of prototypes will be a key part of your role, as will the establishment of key performance indicators for sensor and system-level testing. Additionally, you will be tasked with documenting specifications, design processes, testing, and failure analysis processes. Business travel may be required to support product development, with an expectation of up to 10% travel.
