About the position

Apple's R&D group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and architecture of sensing systems from concept to implementation. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to innovate and enhance sensor performance in highly integrated systems.

Responsibilities

• Drive system level sensor specification definition
• Conduct electrical system architecture and tradeoff analysis
• Perform electrical design, including flexes and PCBAs
• Prototype, evaluate, develop, and harden designs
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams

Requirements

• BS or MS in electrical engineering or similar field
• 5+ years of hands-on electrical and sensor system design experience, including touch, magnetic, and optical based sensing
• Experience selecting and integrating electronics and sensors in novel architectures
• Strong electrical engineering analytical skills
• Experience developing system architecture, sensor systems analysis, and modeling
• Strong fundamentals in sensors and the impact of impairments on sensor performance
• Exceptional HW/SW problem solving skills
• Detail oriented and capable of handling multiple assignments at once

Nice-to-haves

• PhD in electrical engineering or similar field
• Experience leading teams through product development cycle from concept development to production bring up
• Large scale data analysis and knowledge of statistical techniques
• Strong communication, documentation and presentation skills
