Amazon is seeking a talented and motivated Sensor Electrical Engineer to work on system design, implementation, and release to manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in system design, analog and digital circuit design, possess good communication skills, and have complete ownership of development and productization of a sensor system. The candidate will have strong technical expertise to deliver independently, as well as great leadership skills to work with internal customers and external partners. In this role, you will oversee an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production, which includes design, prototyping, validation, testing, and certification. You will be responsible for developing requirements, functional specifications, DVT plans, and test procedures. Additionally, you will build and support concept prototype systems consisting of a mix of in-house and off-the-shelf (OTS) components. Your responsibilities will also include designing, implementing, and debugging embedded systems, as well as analog and digital circuits. You will support product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments, research and advocate for new technologies and projects to help the business, and oversee the characterization of new internally developed or OTS sensors. Writing papers to drive strategic initiatives for Amazon Robotics, mentoring junior engineers, and providing advice and direction to outside projects or other groups will also be part of your duties. You will participate in program and design reviews, ensure program goals are met, and provide structure where there is ambiguity. Presenting your work through papers and presentations at internal conferences and overseeing development contracts with outside vendors will be essential. Clear and succinct communication with leadership, both in writing and verbally, is crucial for success in this role.
