About the position

BAE Systems is seeking a systems engineering intern to support the Air Force's acquisition of the next generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM), the Sentinel weapon system. This role involves working with a skilled team to provide critical engineering support for a complex weapon system, focusing on system requirements, interfaces, and verification processes. The intern will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment that emphasizes high performance and mission focus.

Responsibilities

• Support the engineering development, deployment, and sustainment of the Sentinel weapon system.
• Assist in the management of system requirements and interfaces.
• Provide specialty engineering support and requirements verification.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to a broad audience.
• Participate in project management activities during formal education.

Requirements

• Working towards a Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics from an ABET accredited program.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proactive attitude and team player mentality.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Active DOD Secret Clearance or higher (preferred but not required).
• Experience with requirements software like IBM DOORS.
• Experience with MBSE software like Cameo or Rhapsody.
• Coursework in systems engineering.
• Completed internship in an engineering facility.
• Examples of technical writing proficiency.
• Examples of technical oral presentation experience.
• Examples of project management skills.
