About the position

The Data Visualization Engineer/Principal Data Visualization Engineer at Northrop Grumman will be responsible for developing data visualizations using Tableau, applying best practices in data science and user interface/user experience design. This role involves documenting algorithms and data taxonomy, forecasting data trends, and collaborating with the Data Integration and Analytics team to enhance understanding of standards and best practices within the Sentinel program.

Responsibilities

• Develop data visualizations using Tableau.
• Document assumptions of algorithms and data taxonomy.
• Forecast and trend data elements to help users avoid future problems.
• Utilize data reduction and summarization techniques.
• Leverage graphical expressions to describe underlying principles within the data.
• Collaborate with the Data Integration and Analytics technical lead to develop understanding of standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Data Visualization Engineer: 2 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; 1 year with a Master's; or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.
• Principal Data Visualization Engineer: 5 years with a Bachelor's degree; 3 years with a Master's; or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.
• U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access (SAP).
• Demonstrated proficiency in Tableau.
• Familiarity with SQL Database Platforms (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server/PostgreSQL).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Atlassian Tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
• Experience with Agile Software Development.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Capable of peer reviewing and applying more advanced visualization concepts.
