About the position

The Electrical Engineering Manager 3 position at Northrop Grumman involves leading the Interconnect & Signal Distribution (I&SD) Team in the design and technical direction of cable and mechanical box systems for the Sentinel program. The role requires managing product definition packages, supporting risk management, and providing oversight for hardware interface development. This position is critical in ensuring the successful execution of engineering projects while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cable/mechanical box design decisions and provide technical direction to the I&SD Team.
  • Oversee the I&SD Team on CPLM Product Definition Packages (PDP) releases.
  • Support Command & Launch (C&L) Management and Chief Engineer in identifying and quantifying risks and blockers.
  • Provide technical direction and support to hardware, procurement, and systems engineering teams in developing hardware interfaces.
  • Develop creative solutions to resolve technical issues within I&SD.
  • Manage changes related to cost, schedule, and statement of work.
  • Delegate tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM-related field with 8 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a formal lead/management position.
  • 1+ years of Cost Account Manager and Program Scheduling experience.
  • Experience with Siemens Mentor Capital cable design tool or equivalent.
  • Experience using CPLM for design releases.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in STEM, preferably in Engineering.
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at the time of application.
  • Familiarity with TEMPEST and EMI requirements and design implementations.
  • Proven performance as an Engineering Leader in all phases of acquisition, design, integration, and execution.
  • Experience in NX for cable assembly routing or general mechanical design.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile engineering and Jira.
