About the position

The GN&C IPT Execution Support Program Manager 2 at Northrop Grumman is responsible for supporting the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) lead in translating strategic vision into actionable plans for the Sentinel program. This role involves overseeing program technical execution, managing cost and schedule constraints, and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders. The position requires strong leadership skills to guide engineers and project team members while maintaining program performance metrics and risk management strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Support the GN&C lead in developing and translating the strategic vision into long range plans and short/intermediate-term technical direction to the GN&C organization.
  • Program technical execution with cost and schedule constraints.
  • Setting objectives, monitoring, and assessing progress.
  • Measure and report program performance utilizing earned value management and other financial tools.
  • Development and maintenance of program execution metrics.
  • Risk-mitigation planning and execution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customer counterparts.
  • Management and guidance of mechanical and other discipline engineers.
  • Technical direction, guidance, and mentoring of project team members.
  • Communicate effectively and clearly to present technical approaches and findings at technical and program reviews/boards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of related experience, or master's degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience, or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time.
  • At least 1 year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM-related field of study from an accredited university or 4 additional years of experience and 8 years of relevant experience, 6 years with a Masters, and 3 years with a PhD.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • 3 years of technical leadership experience, engineering management, and/or program management experience of high value and visibility projects.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • 2 years of experience with EVMS principles and application or as a Cost Account Manager (CAM).
  • Risk & Opportunity Management Experience.
  • Experience on ICBM or related programs - Specifically in Guidance, Navigation & Control.
  • Experience executing proposals to include both cost and technical.
  • Experience with operations to include facilities, staffing logistics, battle rhythm execution, metrics collection, etc.
